Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) has intersected a 5.4m zone of sulphide mineralisation from 46.3m downhole in its first diamond drill hole at the Isabel silver-lead-zinc-indium-tin prospect in North Queensland.
According to Iltani, mineralisation in hole ISDD001 is sphalerite-dominant. Lesser sulphides include pyrite, galena, pyrrhotite, and chalcopyrite, hosted by quartzite breccia.
The zone of highest sulphide abundance is estimated at 35% sphalerite over 2m from 47.6m downhole.
Managing Director Donald Garner says the first drill hole has delivered a ‘fantastic’ intersection.
“This is exactly what we want to see from our drilling at Isabel, and to intersect this mineralisation in the first hole of the program is a very good start,” Garner says.
Isabel is located on EPM 27223, roughly 50m apart from two interpreted mineralisation zones, and represents a potential satellite deposit to the Orient deposit.
Historical drilling during the 1970s and early 1980s tested the west zone of mineralisation to about 90m below surface, with the deposit remaining open at depth.
However, as historical drill collars cannot be located in the field and no downhole surveys were undertaken, Iltani describes the exact 3D location and geometry as “poorly defined”.

The current 10-hole diamond drilling program totals approximately 1,100m, with deeper holes designed to test mineralisation at 140m below surface. The company plans to extend the program if consistent mineralisation is intersected.
Meanwhile, core from ISDD001 will be logged and processed before samples are dispatched for assay, with results expected in December 2026.
