Mulga Tank just got a whole lot bigger.
Western Mines Group (ASX:WMG) has delivered a major mineral resource estimate upgrade at its Mulga Tank Nickel-Copper-Cobalt-PGE Project in Western Australia, lifting contained nickel (Ni) to 7.2 million tonnes.
Managing Director Caedmon Marriott joins us on the floor at IMARC 2026 in Sydney:
Key topics discussed:
- Nickel numbers climb: The total resource grows 35% to 2.65 billion tonnes (Bt) at 0.27% Ni, while the indicated resource nearly doubles to 1.12Bt at 0.28% Ni
- Scoping Study incoming: Mine planning and scheduling are underway following engineering work on capital and operating costs, with an initial Scoping Study targeted within weeks
- Hunting the deeper prize: A government co-funded seismic survey is underway to map the intrusion and help identify potential ‘high-grade’, massive sulphide targets at depth
About the guest and company:
Caedmon Marriott is the managing director of Western Mines Group, an Australian mineral explorer focused on nickel sulphide and gold opportunities in WA. Its flagship Mulga Tank Project, within the Minigwal Greenstone Belt in WA’s Eastern Goldfields, hosts a large disseminated nickel sulphide resource, with exploration also targeting the potential for higher-grade mineralisation deeper within the intrusion.
