Fremantle buzz: Inside RIU 2026

The 2026 RIU Explorers Conference in Fremantle has wrapped, marking a strong start to the Australian mining year.

Event highlights:

  • Gold dominated the conversation, taking up much of the oxygen in the room as investors continued to back quality gold stories.
  • A more disciplined investment environment, with capital flowing toward projects viewed as development-ready rather than purely speculative.
  • Emerging interest in tungsten, tin, uranium, and copper, as investors looked beyond gold for strategic and supply-driven opportunities.

The mood across the conference floor was active and engaged, but more selective than previous cycles. While sentiment remains positive, investors are increasingly focused on fundamentals, pathways to production, and tangible milestones.

Watch our full RIU wrap to hear what companies and investors had to say from the ground in Fremantle.
