Sage Potash (TSX-V:SAGE) reports potash results from its Peterson 1 drill hole at the Sage Plain Potash Project in Utah, US.
The company intersected 3.3m grading 52.5% potassium chloride (KCl) within the Upper Cycle 18 potash bed, alongside 3.1m of 53.4% KCl in the Lower Cycle 18 bed. The results confirm continuity between Peterson 1 and the Johnson 1 hole 1km to the south.
Peterson 1 returned 36.1% KCl over 8.1m in the Upper Cycle 18 bed and 36.4% KCl over 5m in the Lower Cycle 18 bed. Combined grade and thickness reached 36.3% over 13.1m for the entire Cycle 18 sequence.
“The continuity, thickness, and grades of the potash beds demonstrate a deposit that can be advanced rapidly toward production,” CEO Patricio Varas says.
The hole was completed on 4 August and positioned to facilitate resource expansion and upgrade portions of the resource to measured and indicated categories. Core samples were analysed at Saskatchewan Research Council laboratories.
Assays indicate minimal carnallite content and less than 1% insoluble materials. The flat-lying mineralisation dips about 0.8° and remains open in all directions.
Sage Potash has engaged RESPEC to complete an updated National Instrument 43-101 resource estimate within 45 days, incorporating the Peterson 1 results.
The company expects the new resource to support a higher-capacity mine plan exceeding the 300,000 tonnes per year contemplated in its September 2025 preliminary economic assessment.
Sage Potash is a Canadian company focused on sustainable potash development to support domestic food security.
