Sage Potash (TSX-V:SAGE) has completed drilling at the Peterson 1 well within its Sage Plain Potash Project in Utah, US, with core recovered from two targeted potash-bearing beds.
The well reached a total depth of 2,248m and intersected the Cycle 18 Upper and Lower beds. Continuous core from both mineralised intervals is being prepared for shipment to the Saskatchewan Research Council in Saskatoon, Canada, for geological logging and assays.
Sage Potash says it is also completing downhole geophysical surveys, including gamma ray logging designed to identify potash and provide geological data alongside the laboratory results.
The company notes the drill program aims to assess the continuity, thickness, and grade of the potash mineralisation. The resulting data will support potential resource updates, engineering studies, and further project development.
CEO Patricio Varas says the company is awaiting the laboratory results following the completion of drilling.
“Our team is pleased to witness the successful recovery and logging of core from the potash beds and the completion of the drill program,” Varas says.
“We look forward to the assay results in order to expand and upgrade the resource.”
The Sage Plain Potash Project lies within the Paradox Basin in southeastern Utah. Sage Potash is seeking to establish a domestic potash production operation at the project.
Further updates are expected once the core analysis is complete.
