Pivotal Metals (ASX:PVT) has further proven the resource growth potential at the Horden Lake Project in Québec, Canada after identifying several fresh targets in a fixed loop time-domain electromagnetic survey.
The survey results show multiple large, bedrock conductors that demonstrate new and extended zones of sulphide-rich mineralisation along the target contact boundary that hosts Horden Lake.
All six main conductive anomalies identified in the survey lie along a northeast-southwest trending gabbro contact zone which is host to the Horden Lake deposit.
Managing Director Ivan Fairhall says these targets represent a step change in the scale of opportunity for the company at Horden Lake.
“Along strike, we have multiple new target areas, including a substantial predominantly undrilled conductor 600m southwest along strike from the main Horden Lake deposit,” Fairhall says.
“Our 2024 drill program has already extended the open pit potential of the deposit, and these new shallow targets widen that opportunity even further.
“At depth below the main Horden Lake deposit, new conductors extend up to three times beyond the depth of existing drilling where mineralisation was strongly open. This is a huge area and provides a substantial blue sky potential.”
Fairhall adds that the geophysics, geology, structural controls and drilling all confirm that the company is exploring in the right part of a “very large” magmatic system.
The company notes that a drilling contractor has mobilised to site at Horden Lake to conduct step-out drilling.
Final metallurgical testwork is also taking place, with a resource estimate update expected to follow thereafter.
The Horden Lake Project is a copper dominant asset located 131km north-northwest of Matagami, Canada. The project hosts a resource of 28 million tonnes @ 1.5% copper-equivalent.
