Rokeby reports maiden tailings resource at Omeo

Rokeby Resources (ASX:RKB) has outlined a maiden inferred mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 66,565 tonnes @ 5.29 grams per tonne gold (Au) for 11,337 ounces at its Powers Gully tailings deposit within the Omeo Gold Project in northeast Victoria.

The MRE forms part of an expanded program targeting tailings and mullock deposits across the Cassilis and Mt Wills goldfields.

Mining One Consultants completed the independent block model using historical auger drilling data, while ABA Resources completed validation drilling in January.

Metallurgical testwork delivered 98% Au recovery with final tailings grades of 0.16g/t Au.

Managing Director Richard Beazley says this marks an important milestone in achieving future early-stage production at Powers Gully.

“This represents the continuation of the work program from multiple studies over the past twenty years to define and upgrade the current inferred JORC-compliant MRE to an indicated mineral resource, around the remnant tailings and mullock deposits,” Beazley says.

The work will inform an investment decision within two months on engineering and constructing a pilot plant for initial tailings processing.

The tailings program runs concurrently with diamond drilling at the Sunnyside deposit in Mt Wills, where historical resources total 2.46 million tonnes @ 4.0g/t Au for 320,000 ounces.

Beazley says the strategic focus remains on expanding underground mineral resources through hard rock drilling, with current drilling scheduled for completion in four weeks and a resource update due in September.

Rokeby Resources is an explorer focused on the discovery and development of gold and critical minerals, including base metals.
