Giant Mining (CSE:BFG) intends to conduct surface mapping and evaluation by advanced artificial intelligence modelling, in preparation for an upcoming phase two drill program at the Majuba Hill Porphyry Copper-Silver-Gold Project in the US.
This news comes after results from the phase one program confirmed strong breccia controls and copper mineralisation that aligns with previously uncovered high-grade intercepts in core holes MHB-30 and MHB-32.
CEO David Greenway says the results reinforce the company’s belief that Majuba Hill is “emerging as one of the most promising domestic copper projects in the US”.
“With copper now recognised as a national security priority and Nevada, US – a globally top-ranked mining jurisdiction – providing a stable and supportive environment, the conditions are ideal for Giant Mining to accelerate development,” Greenway says.
“We are fully funded for phase two of drilling, and our technical team – led by Buster Hunsaker – is ready to move forward.”
The breccia study, which is being expanded, will incorporate data from over 100 previous drillholes totalling 89,395 feet and the geological understanding of Majuba Hill’s breccia-hosted mineralisation to generate refined targets for future drilling.
Breccia is a type of rock made up of broken fragments of minerals or other rocks that are cemented together by a fine-grained matrix. Identifying and understanding these breccia zones help geologists pinpoint where the richest mineralisation is located, which in turn, allows Giant Mining to target its drilling more effectively and increase the chances of discovering economically viable copper deposits.
The Majuba Hill Project, located in Nevada, shows indications of a potentially larger copper-silver and gold mineralised body with many features in common with large porphyry copper, silver, and gold type mineralisation.
Giant Mining is a copper, silver, and gold explorer focused on its project in northeast Reno, US.
