Copper One targets Redonda expansion with 2,400m drill program

Copper One Resources (CSE:CEXY) has begun a fully funded 2,400m diamond drilling program at its Redonda Copper-Molybdenum Project in British Columbia, Canada, aiming to expand and better define the large porphyry system.

According to Copper One, the porphyry system at Redonda lies within British Columbia’s Coast Suture Zone, a prolific geological belt known for significant porphyry copper deposits. The property comprises nine mineral claims covering approximately 2,746 hectares.

“The start of this fully funded program at Redonda marks an important milestone for Copper One,” CEO David Greenway says, highlighting the potential to expand the mineralised footprint.

The property has been explored intermittently since the late 1960s through geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys, trenching, and diamond drilling.

Teck Resources (TSX:TECK.B) explored the project in 1979, completing 1,681m of drilling. Subsequent operators carried out additional drilling, trenching, and airborne geophysical surveys that further advanced the understanding of the mineralised system.

Historical exploration has identified multiple copper and molybdenum mineralised zones that remain open along strike and at depth, providing the basis for the 2026 drill program.

Building on these historical exploration campaigns and recent field mapping, the fully funded program will target the southern extension of the known mineralised system and further define its geometry and continuity.

Copper One aims to expand the currently recognised strike length of the mineralised system to more than 1km.

Redonda complements the company’s flagship Majuba Hill Project in Nevada, a porphyry copper-silver-gold prospect with a history of production. Drilling is also underway at Majuba Hill, testing targets generated using artificial intelligence (AI).

“With drilling now underway at two highly prospective North American copper projects, Copper One is well positioned to generate a steady pipeline of exploration results,” Greenway adds.

Copper One Resources is advancing copper and copper-silver-gold projects, along with critical minerals assets, in North America to support the growing demand driven by electrification.
