Koba Resources (ASX:KOB) plans to commence soil sampling in August following significant tungsten results from its Mt Garnet Tin-Tungsten Project in Queensland.
The company collected 44 rock chip samples across multiple prospects, returning assays including 13.20% tungsten (W), 5.40% W, and 5% W, as well as tin grades up to 7.70% and 6.00%.
Managing Director Ben Vallerine says Koba is ‘very encouraged’ by the results.
“High-grade assays of up to 13.2% W have been returned across six priority prospects, demonstrating that high-grade tungsten occurrences are widespread throughout the project area,” Vallerine says.
“Importantly, these results have been returned from multiple targets that also feature prospective geology, historical workings, extensive mineralised trends, and, in some areas, coincident high-tenor soil anomalies.
“This provides Koba with a strong pipeline of compelling tungsten targets to advance.”
Sampling has enabled Koba to prioritise six prospects for immediate follow-up, led by Starlight, which returned 13.20% W at the historic Tom’s Mine. Additional key targets include Gows, Mountain Maid, Crest, and Ahmets.
Vallerine reveals a follow-up program will commence in August, comprising soil sampling, mapping and further rock-chip sampling.
“This work is designed to define the mineralised trends, assess their scale and advance the strongest targets towards drilling,” he says.
Meanwhile, maiden drilling at the Stannex and Gilmore prospects is progressing, with 19 holes completed for 2,267m of the planned 3,000m program and assays pending.
Following Mt Garnet, the rig will move to the Stannary Hills Project for a maiden 3,000m drill program at the Kitchener and Jiminy prospects.
Koba Resources is a mineral explorer focused on identifying and developing critical mineral and energy projects, specifically uranium, tin, and tungsten in Australia.
