Abcourt Mines (TSX-V:ABI) has reported record development at its Sleeping Giant Gold Mine in Québec, Canada for Q4 2026.
Processed ore increased 160% to 11,891 tonnes, compared with the previous quarter’s 7,445 tonnes. June marked a historical peak with 5,229 tonnes milled.
Gold production in Q4 amounted to 720 ounces produced, with 646 ounces poured. Annual cumulative production reached 3,628 ounces produced, including 2,647 ounces poured for the fiscal year.
Underground mine development reached a record 554m in Q4, including 215m in June alone, compared with 307m in Q3.
ABI describes this as a 180% increase in development activity.
Diamond drilling totalled 11,059m during the quarter, a 155% increase compared with Q3. Gallery rehabilitation showed a 231% increase to 1,052m, compared with 455m in the previous quarter.
The average grade for the fiscal year stands at 4.18 grams per tonne gold (Au). The fourth quarter grade decreased to 2.10g/t Au.
The Q4 decrease reflects the processing of lower-grade development zones during the transitional expansion phase.
“This fourth quarter demonstrates the success of our ramp-up phase at Sleeping Giant,” CEO Pascal Hamelin says.
“Despite temporarily lower grades this quarter, due to mine plan sequencing, mill efficiency and daily throughput have reached new heights.”
ABI has commenced long-hole stope extraction, with the drill currently operating in the mine. The company notes that the rehabilitated galleries will help improve the number of available working faces.
