Yari launches Rolleston South’s drilling campaign

Yari Minerals (ASX:YAR) has begun a six-hole reverse circulation and diamond drilling program at the Rolleston South Coal Project in Queensland.

The 2,000m program aims to confirm the presence of high-quality semi-soft metallurgical coal through testwork, as well as upgrade part of the current 190 million tonnes inferred resource to indicated status.

Yari, which has a market capitalisation of $9.23 million, says the program will also undertake geotechnical testwork to support future technical studies.

The program is expected to be completed in December 2025, with results due in the first quarter of 2026.

Managing Director Anthony Italiano says since acquiring the project, Yari’s geology team has expanded the resource by 140% to 190 million tonnes.

“The campaign aims to confirm the presence of a semi-soft coking coal resource and to upgrade part of the resource categorisation from inferred to indicated status – providing a strong foundation to commence Scoping Study work in 2026 that will outline development pathways for the project,” Italiano says.

Xenith Consulting will be managing the drilling program.

The Rolleston South Coal Project, located in the Bowen Basin, contains an inferred resource of 190.1 million tonnes of thermal coal.
