Uvre warrants more South Pass groundwork

Uvre (ASX:UVA) is planning more work programs for once the field season opens within its South Pass Lithium Project in Wyoming, US, amid confirming anomalous lithium in the area. 

The upcoming groundwork will include more targeted surface sampling of the outcropping pegmatites, as well as a soil sampling program over the Billy and Jonny prospects to vector into the lithium-bearing pegmatites. 

Uvre has received assay results from the initial reconnaissance sampling program which confirmed the existence of lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites within the South Pass claims. 

Laboratory analysis returned rock chip grades up to 390 parts per million (ppm) lithium from the first-pass pegmatite grab samples, while 10 rock chip samples returned more than 300ppm lithium. 

Managing Director Peter Woods says the latest results confirm LCT pegmatites exist at the project and this coincides with the scale of the pegmatites that the anomalous rocks came from at Billy and Jonny. 

“This is evidenced by the anomalous lithium results returning up to 390ppm lithium and the pegmatites in the northern licence area have geochemical signatures common with lithium bearing pegmatites which are referred LCT pegmatites. 

Given this was a rapid first pass sampling program carried out before the onset of winter conditions shortly after securing the project these results provide encouragement to now plan a more detailed field mapping and soil sample program to map in detail the outcropping pegmatites and to vector in to outcropping lithium minerals including spodumene.”

The company reports a further 24 samples returned more than 100ppm lithium confirming elevated lithium in pegmatites in the northern claims area. 

Laboratory results also confirmed LCT indicator elements with elevated lithium, rubidium, tin, niobium, tantalum, beryllium, and boron. 

The South Pass project is a ‘large’, early stage, and ‘highly prospective’ exploration project. 

Uvre is a new critical minerals explorer based in Perth, Western Australia. The company’s assets are considered prospective for uranium, vanadium, and lithium in the US. 

As of 31 December 2023, the company had $2.895 million cash at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
