Surefire Resources (ASX:SRN) has secured strategic project recognition from the Western Australian Government after its Victory Bore Vanadium Project was shortlisted for inclusion in this year’s Critical Minerals Prospectus for Western Australia.
The designation recognises Victory Bore as a project capable of underpinning WA’s emerging vanadium, titanium, and critical minerals supply chain.
The recognition aligns the project with state and federal government-supported pathways for downstream processing, battery technology, and international investment attraction.
Surefire has commenced engagement with the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) to explore and accelerate international participation in the project’s development.
This engagement is being progressed through Invest and Trade Western Australia’s offices in Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Tokyo, marking the first coordinated government-to-government and government-to-industry pathway for Victory Bore in Asia.
The company says it is targeting Asian strategic investors, vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) and advanced battery technology groups, mining and processing collaboration, and downstream integration.
Additionally, Surefire has entered into a heads of agreement with Australian Flow Batteries (AFB) to explore the potential for Victory Bore to become the supplier of choice for AFB’s VRFB technology.
AFB recently licensed globally patented intellectual property for the low-energy, single-atmosphere processing of minerals from vanadiferous-titanomagnetite deposits in WA.
A bulk sample of Victory Bore concentrate is currently being tested in Canada using advanced metallurgical methodologies to validate low-energy processing suitability, confirm vanadium recovery performance, assess titanium and iron product streams, and generate data for downstream integration studies.
Executive Chairman Vladimir Nikolaenko says Victory Bore is now positioned within the state’s strategic minerals framework, with JTSI engagement opening direct channels into key Asian markets.
“Our discussions with AFB, combined with Canadian testwork on Victory Bore concentrate, are building a commercially aligned pathway that integrates upstream production with downstream battery technology,” Nikolaenko says.
“The commercial potential of this alignment is significant.”
Surefire is currently progressing the completion of the Canadian metallurgical testwork, and will begin advancing the AFB collaboration framework following receipt of the test results.
It will also continue Asian engagement through JTSI and integrate downstream processing options into project development studies.
Surefire Resources is a mineral explorer discovering and developing vanadium, magnetite, and gold projects in WA.
