SSR Mining (ASX:SSR) is planning geophysical surveys for its 2023 field season at the Copper Hill property in Turkey.
Exploration to date has focused on defining the initial footprint of copper mineralisation in the area through a diamond drilling program.
The planned geophysical surveys are aimed to advance the continued definition of the potential overall extent of mineralisation at the property. SSR is also planning further regional exploration activity to uncover and test copper skarn and porphyry targets across the greater Kazikbeli land package.

This announcement comes after the company received recent ‘positive’ drill results at Copper Hill.
SSR reports at present, copper mineralisation has been defined along nearly 1km of strike to a depth of 250m below surface. Currently, the mineralisation exhibits low levels of other metals and arsenic, suggesting the potential for a clean copper concentrate attractive to smelting companies.
Further, results to date exhibit mineralisation starting from surface over broad intercepts that suggest the potential for an open pit operation in the future.
Some of the top Copper Hill drilling results include drillhole CH002 with 37m @ 1.1% Cu from surface and drillhole CH012 with 139.7m @ 1.4% Cu from 134.4m, including 1.6% Cu over 33.9m from 204.2m and 3.5% Cu over 21.3m from 246.4m.
The Copper Hill Project is a joint venture project between SSR Mining, which owns 70%, and Lidya Mines, which owns the remaining 30%.
