Siren sounds on Queen Charlotte exploration

Siren Gold (ASX:SNG) has started fieldwork across a 12km strike of the Endeavour Shear Zone within its Queen Charlotte Antimony-Gold Project in Marlborough, New Zealand.

Over the next few months Siren will conduct regional soil geochemistry and continue to look for and channel sample mineralised outcrops to get a better understanding of the extent and tenor of the Endeavour Shear Zone.

It will also seek to find additional mineralised outcrops within the Endeavour Inlet mine to support the initial interpretation.

Additionally, Siren will map and soil sample the Endeavour Shear north of the Skyline pit and adit 1. Stibnite veins in quartz are found in the adit 1 north mullock heap and stibnite boulders have been reported in a stream 1.2km north of the Skyline pit.

The current fieldwork program marks the company’s first phase of exploration at Queen Charlotte, involving mapping and sampling along the shear zone.

Siren collected 106 rock samples across multiple outcrops, targeting both gold and antimony mineralisation.

The northwest–southeast structure extends for at least 12km and is about 100m wide, hosting the Skyline and Maria Reefs on the hanging-wall and footwall respectively.

A 2015 channel sample from the Maria Reef returned 5.4m at 5.4 grams per tonne gold, and other historical rock chips assayed between 1g/t and 4g/t gold, highlighting underexplored gold potential.

Six outcrops of the Maria Reef have now been located and channel-sampled by Siren, with assays pending.

Thickness of the true reef ranges between 2m and 6m, comprising quartz veins, quartz breccia, sheared schist and stibnite veins dipping steeply east.

CEO Zane Padman says the scale and continuity of mineralisation along the Endeavour Shear Zone reinforces the strategic importance of the project.

“Early fieldwork has confirmed significant gold potential alongside historically mined antimony, with multiple mineralised outcrops identified and assays pending,” Padman says.

Siren plans to conduct additional regional soil geochemistry and channel sampling to refine targets across the Endeavour Inlet, Resolution Bay and Skyline areas.

The company will also prepare for an access agreement with the Department of Conservation to facilitate future drilling.

Siren Gold is a mineral explorer primarily focused on gold and antimony discoveries in the Reefton Goldfield in the South Island of New Zealand.
