Quantum Data Energy powers Bordesley’s construction

IN LONDON: Quantum Data Energy (LSE:QDE) has begun construction at its Bordesley 5 megawatt flexible generation power project in the UK.

Civils, electrical, genset, and gas packages were all placed during March 2026 and offsite gas installation works are underway.

The company intends to complete site mobilisation and establishment during May 2026, while offsite gas pipework installation will be completed in early June 2026.

Site clearance, ground preparation, and foundations will be completed between May and June 2026, while equipment deliveries are expected between late-July to mid-August.

Once all construction and commissioning activities have been completed, commercial operations are anticipated to begin in Q4 2026.

CEO Pieter Krügel says the company’s partnership with Power Balancing Services validates Quantum Data Energy’s capital-light scaling model, allowing Quantum Data to retain meaningful equity exposure to a high-quality, cash-generative asset while limiting dilution.

“Bordesley will be Quantum Data Energy’s third operational flexible generation asset and represents another important step toward our 300 megawatt target and beyond,” Krügel says.

“The £1 million placing recently completed enables us to progress other ‘shovel-ready’ sites with the capital providing the potential for necessary capital contributions alongside project level debt financing discussions which are currently underway which we hope to be able to announce to the market in the coming weeks.”

Quantum Data Energy delivers flexible, modular power solutions to the UK grid and artificial intelligence worldwide enabling scalable, reliable energy for next-generation digital infrastructure.
