Noronex confirms uranium system at Etango North

Noronex (ASX:NRX) has confirmed widespread uranium mineralisation across multiple prospects at its Etango North Uranium Project in Namibia.

Maiden drilling returned multiple intervals exceeding 100ppm uranium oxide, with significant intersections at Oasis Dome including 4m @ 270ppm uranium oxide from 78m and 7m at 130ppm uranium oxide from 61m in hole ODC008.

ODC009 returned 5m at 183ppm uranium oxide from 205m and 2m at 189ppm uranium oxide from 215m.

The drilling targeted uranium and thorium radiometric anomalies identified during previous ground spectrometry surveys.

Results confirm the presence of uranium-bearing alaskite intrusions similar to those hosting major deposits in Namibia’s uranium district.

Chief Geologist Tony Chisnall says the assay results validate the company’s exploration model.

“The receipt of laboratory assay results from our maiden RC drilling program is an important milestone because it confirms that Etango North hosts a broad uranium-bearing system within the same style of alaskite intrusions that host several of Namibia’s major uranium deposits,” Chisnall adds.

“While this was deliberately designed as a first-pass scout drilling program to test priority geological and radiometric targets rather than delineate economic mineralisation, the results show that our geological model is working.”

The eight-hole program intersected uranium mineralisation at varying depths across both prospects, supporting interpretation of a district-scale intrusive-related uranium system.

Mineralisation appears spatially associated with interpreted alaskite intrusive bodies and structural corridors identified through remote sensing, geological mapping, and geophysical interpretation.

The Etango North Project sits immediately north of Bannerman Energy’s (ASX:BMN) Etango Project, which hosts a mineral resource of 416 million tonnes at 225ppm uranium oxide.

Noronex exercised its option to proceed to 51% ownership following initial due diligence, with the right to earn up to 80% through further payments totalling 4 million Namibian dollars by February 2028.

The company will integrate geological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets to refine controls on uranium mineralisation before assessing follow-up exploration activities.
