Freegold (TSX:FVL) has reported additional drill results from its Golden Summit Project in Alaska, US, where six rigs are advancing infill drilling and technical studies to support a 2027 Prefeasibility Study (PFS).
Hole GS2622 at the Dolphin Area returned 176.8m @ 1.48 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 389.2m, including 45.8m at 3.09g/t Au.
The hole was drilled steeply across the northern margin of the granodiorite-tonalite stock at the centre of the Dolphin Area.
GS2617 returned 70.8m @ 1.33g/t Au from 147.7–218.5m within the Cleary Road Cut Shear hanging wall block. GS2620 intersected 33.7m @ 1.59g/t Au from 452m within a broad zone of mineralisation starting at 210.6m to end of hole.
At the Cleary Area, shallow holes designed to better define mineralisation limits returned 74.4m @ 1.20g/t Au from 119.8m in GS2611 and 2.2m @ 25.31g/t Au from 103.6m in GS2619.
All six holes intersected mineralisation within the moderately south-dipping CRCS structure.
Drilling at the WOW Zone extended structurally controlled mineralisation farther north within the CRCS hanging wall block. Hole GS2616 returned 15m @ 0.75g/t Au from 245m, including 9.4m @ 3.13g/t Au.
“Our immediate focus remains on infill drilling, defining mineralised boundaries in the Dolphin-Cleary area and completing geotechnical and metallurgical drilling required for the PFS,” VP of Exploration and Development Alvin Jackson says.
Once this work is complete, one rig is expected to shift east to test priority exploration targets.
Golden Summit hosts an indicated primary mineral resource of 17.2 million ounces (Moz) at 1.24g/t Au and 11.9Moz @ 1.04g/t Au inferred.
The currently defined resource occupies only the western portion of Freegold’s 13km by 6km property.
Freegold is a gold developer advancing the Golden Summit Project in Alaska, which hosts over 29Moz gold indicated and inferred.
