Elevra Lithium (ASX:ELV) has broken ground on its North American Lithium expansion project in Québec, Canada, following the completion of a $275 million capital raise.
Equipment orders have been placed to support the planned development timeline and reduce schedule risk.
CEO Lucas Dow says the groundbreaking ‘marks a milestone’ for the company and reflects progress since announcing its staged expansion strategy.
“With funding secured and equipment orders being placed, we are focused on disciplined execution to deliver Stage 1,” Dow says.
“This expansion will increase production capacity and further strengthen NAL’s position as a strategically important source of lithium supply in North America.”
Stage one of the expansion is expected to deliver a 15%–20% increase in annual spodumene concentrate production capacity upon completion in mid-2027. The expansion will also reduce unit operating costs through improved scale and efficiency.
The project will deliver increased supply of traceable and transparent lithium to the electric vehicle and energy storage markets.
Elevra completed its $275 million institutional placement in May 2026, which fully funded the NAL expansion and strengthened the company’s balance sheet.
The company’s assets comprise the wholly owned North American Lithium operation, a 60% stake in the Moblan Lithium Project in Central Québec, and the wholly owned Carolina Lithium project in the United States.
Elevra Lithium is a North American lithium producer with a globally diversified portfolio of hard‑rock lithium assets across Québec, the US, and Western Australia, focused on supplying traceable, transparent lithium to the electric vehicle and energy storage markets.
