Copper One Resources (CSE:CEXY) has started drilling the third planned hole at its Redonda Copper-Molybdenum Project in British Columbia, Canada.
The hole (RED-26-03) forms part of a fully funded 2,400m diamond drilling program testing priority targets developed from historical exploration and previous drilling across the property.
Copper One says previous exploration has identified multiple zones of copper and molybdenum mineralisation across the 27.5km² property, with the current program designed to test the extent of the interpreted porphyry system.
The company previously said it is targeting an extension of the system’s recognised strike length to more than 1km.
“Commencing RED-26-03 marks continued progress in our 2,400m drill program at Redonda,” Copper One President and CEO David Greenway says.
Second hole completed
The start of RED-26-03 follows the completion of hole RED-26-02, which last month encountered visually identified copper mineralisation from approximately 40m downhole. The hole was subsequently drilled to a depth of 425.8m.
Copper One says geological features and visual mineralisation encountered from about 20m downhole and through portions of RED-26-02 are consistent with its interpretation of the targeted porphyry system.
“Completion of RED-26-02 provides additional core for geological logging, sampling, and analysis as we evaluate the geometry and continuity of the targeted porphyry system,” Greenway adds.
Assay results will be required to determine the grades and extent of the mineralisation encountered in the hole.
Majuba Hill drilling update
Meanwhile, Copper One is preparing for further drilling at its flagship Majuba Hill Copper-Silver-Gold Project in Nevada, US.
The company has completed site preparation for a planned 1,219m drilling program, which Greenway says is also designed to provide additional technical data on the project to support its next stage of exploration.
Copper One Resources is advancing copper and copper-silver-gold projects, along with critical minerals assets, in North America to support the growing demand driven by electrification.
