No surprises can be excellent news when you are designing a mine.
Alma Metals (ASX:ALM) has received the first assays from its 2026 drilling campaign at the Briggs Copper Project in Queensland, with the results closely matching the existing geological model.
🔑 Key themes include:
- Predictable geology: Early assays align with the resource model
- Long intervals: Copper continues for hundreds of metres
- Mining focus: Drilling targets the first 10–15 years
- Resource upgrade: Around 12,000m planned by year-end
- Growth potential: ‘Higher-grade’ and outside-resource targets remain
The holes ended in mineralisation, though Alma stopped where the mine plan needed answers. Sometimes knowing when to stop drilling is part of the strategy.
