Volt Resources (ASX:VRC) is bringing its Zavalievsky Graphite Project out of hibernation after the winter shutdown period.
The graphite producer and advanced materials developer has resumed production at its graphite refinery, also known as a purification circuit, 280km south of Kyiv in Ukraine.
Between 6 to 10 March 2026, a combined 19.14 tonnes of product achieved between 99.6% and 99.75% purity, with a production yield of 87% across three batches.
The feed material is flake graphite from an African graphite mine.
All product from this current campaign has been sold to a European battery customer at US$3,000 (A$4,260) per tonne. A 50% prepayment has been received and delivery is scheduled to start before the end of March 2026.
Chief Executive Officer Prashant Chintawar says that the “successful completion of this high purity graphite production campaign at Zavalievsky Graphite (ZG), using external African feedstock, is an important milestone for Volt”.
“It confirms the robustness and flexibility of our purification process and directly supports our feed-flexible strategy for the planned Alabama Graphite Refinery.
“I am particularly proud of the ZG team, who continue to execute safely and reliably
in a challenging environment.”
Next, Volt plans to satisfy a US commercial order for 20 tonnes, producing and delivering more than 200kg of both high purity- and ultra high purity- graphite samples to battery and industrial customers across America.
The company will continue discussions and qualification programs with US commercial and defence sector companies. It will also seek secure, non-Chinese supplies of high purity graphite products.
