Tajiri Resources (TSX-V:TAJ) has extended mineralisation in trend YTR16 at its Yono Project in South America, after intersecting 20m @ 1.4 grams per tonne gold to 32m @ 1.1g/t gold.
Trench YTR16 was extended 80m to the south of the original 20m-long YTR16 for a total length of 100m and the extended trench encountered mineralisation from 50m, returning 50m @ 0.7g/t gold from 50m.
Executive Chairman Dominic O’Sullivan says the results underlie the growing potential at the project.
“Such a substantial width of gold mineralisation is highly significant and a strong indication that the same large mineralising system that has given rise to the proximal Oko Main, Ghanie and Oko West deposits is present extends into and through Yono,” O’Sullivan says.
Trenching to the east, west and south of YTR16, to better define the zone of gold mineralisation, is ongoing and has been expedited.
Yono is considered a high-potential gold exploration opportunity located in Guyana. The project is strategically positioned adjacent to over 8.9 million ounces of indicated and inferred gold resources from G2 Goldfields’ (TSX:GTWO) Oko Main Zone and Ghanie deposits, as well as G Mining Ventures’ (TSX:GMIN) Oko West deposit.
Tajiri Resources is a junior gold explorer and developer with assets in Guyana, South America.
