Kali Metals (ASX:KM1) reports rock chip sampling has returned grades up to 6.00% tin oxide (SnO2) at its Tallangatta Project in Victoria.
The company has identified a tin-tungsten mineralised system approximately 200m south of historical alluvial tin workings that operated from 1873 to 1919.
Initial sampling of 17 rock chip samples returned grades up to 6.00% SnO2 and 0.38% tungsten trioxide (WO3). The mineralised zone contains approximately 10 zones, each hosting multiple quartz veins between 0.2m and 0.5m wide.
Managing Director Paul Adams describes the results as ‘exceptional’.
“Our initial fieldwork has identified a substantial extensive mineral system characterised by dense swarms of mineralised veins, extending over a 1.7km strike,” Adams says.
Kali has completed 480 of a planned 880 soil samples across the wider Mt Cudgewa area.
Results highlight tin and tungsten anomalies over known occurrences and indicate potential extensions, particularly to the east. A sub-parallel tin soil anomaly also sits approximately 500m south of Mt Cudgewa.
At the nearby Mildren prospect, three rock chip samples were collected during reconnaissance work, two of which returned tungsten grades above 0.1% WO3.
The Tallangatta Project covers 611km² in northern Victoria, approximately 20km to 60km east and southeast of Albury-Wodonga.
Kali plans to resume soil sampling in September following the current wet-weather season. It will focus on extended mapping and surface sampling programs over the next six to nine months to define the extent of the mineralised system.
The exploration strategy includes acquiring high-resolution light detection and ranging (LiDAR) imagery across approximately 350km² and obtaining permits for track clearing, trenching, and drilling pads.
“These combined efforts will provide important data required to plan for inaugural trenching and drilling programs, allowing us to effectively evaluate the project’s full economic potential,” Adams says.
