Daura Gold (TSX-V:DGC) has begun a phase one diamond drilling program at the Cerro Bayo Gold-Silver Project in Argentina’s Santa Cruz province.
The program comprises 22 diamond drillholes totalling 1,500m of drilling across 15 priority exploration targets at Cerro Bayo.
At the northern target area, 10 diamond drillholes totalling approximately 500m will be carried out. The drilling will test three priority targets identified through pole-dipole induced polarisation profiling.
In the southern target area, seven priority drill targets will be tested with 14 diamond drillholes totalling approximately 1,000m. These targets are associated with apparent resistivity features coinciding with surface geochemical responses.
The Deseado massif has produced more than 600 million ounces of silver and more than 20 million ounces of gold since 1990, hosting major mines including Newmont’s (ASX:NEM) Cerro Negro and Hochschild’s San Jose.
Daura has entered into a binding letter agreement with Latin Metals (TSX-V:LMS) to earn up to an 80% interest in the Cerro Bayo/La Flora project.
The company says it will provide updates as drilling progresses and analytical results are received and interpreted.
