Corazon to dust off Feather Cap’s ‘priority’ areas

Corazon Mining (ASX:CZN) has identified two ‘high-priority’ targets at the Feather Cap Gold Project in Western Australia, following a systematic review of historical exploration data.

The company will target the Trudgeon Well and Murphy’s Creek prospects in upcoming field activities, describing the areas to exhibit “compelling” surface geochemical anomalism with little historical exploration.

Corazon will target an untested, coherent 3.5km gold lag anomaly at Trudgeon Hill, which has yet to face drilling.

The anomaly was defined by Western Mining in 1991 and returned peaks exceeding 100 parts per billion (ppb) gold, with a high of 760ppb gold in the southern portion of the prospect.

Drilling at Murphy’s Creek previously returned 10m @ 0.6 grams per tonne gold from 20m, including 5m @ 1g/t gold from 25m. The area has not faced any further or along-strike drilling and remains open at depth.

Vein material at Murphy’s Creek graded 1.13g/t gold with a coherent soil anomaly peaking at 39ppb gold over the 1km by 1km area.

Corazon says the data review returned two walk-up drill opportunities using a low-cost method, which will extend the company’s exploration pipeline.

Site reconnaissance activities will be completed at both target areas to assess ground conditions and geological setting ahead of drilling.

Corazon will also conduct surface mapping and follow-up sampling at Trudgeon Well while progressing drill planning for Murphy’s Creek.

Managing Director Simon Coyle says the company’s historical data review has confirmed its belief in the “significant potential” of the Feather Cap Project.

“This low-cost exercise has immediately generated multiple high-priority, walk-up drill targets that have seen little to no modern exploration,” Coyle says.

“The combination of high-grade historical gold hits, the proximity to known deposits like Durack, and the clear potential for early-stage production opportunities at the Wembley target provides a compelling, high-impact exploration pathway for Corazon.”

As reported by Mining.com.au, Corazon completed drilling at the Two Pools Project in Western Australia last week (10 April), drilling four holes across 995m.

Drilling at Two Pools exceeded the originally planned 920m of exploration due to core warranting further investigation.

The company is still awaiting results for the drilling campaign, with initial assays expected within weeks.

Corazon Mining is a mineral explorer focused on unlocking Western Australia’s next major gold discovery.
