Torque’s Ritz lights up with ‘behemoth’ gold intercept

Torque Metals (ASX:TOR) reports an ‘exceptional’ 11m @ 456.00g/t gold (Au) from 122m following reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the HHH deposit at its 100%-owned Ritz Gold Project in Western Australia.

The result from RC hole 26HRC135 included ‘abundant’ visible gold nuggets and reportedly delivered the highest individual metre grade ever recorded at the company, with 1m @ 3,625.00g/t Au from 123m.

Managing Director Craig Jones says the visible gold reflects the endowment of the system and reinforces the growth potential across the Ritz Project.

“It’s always exciting to see visible gold in panned drill samples, particularly when they are validated by spectacular assayed intercepts of this magnitude,” Jones says.

“It … highlights the scope to rapidly grow the current mineral resource estimate at the HHH deposit, which stands at 73,000 ounces at an average grade of 2.0g/t Au.”

The company says it implemented multiple quality control checks on the intercept. Initial photon assay results were not reportable due to combined uranium and thorium concentrations exceeding 80 parts per million. Subsequent re-assays using ‘high-grade’ streams returned 11m @ 419.00g/t Au, while finer-milled samples returned the reported 456.00g/t Au result.

Drilling targets extensions to the existing gold mineral resource estimate (MRE). Follow-up diamond hole 26HDD012, drilled 3m from 26HRC135, intersected 7.9m @ 1.37g/t Au from 146.2m, supporting potential down-dip extension. Additional results from HHH include 8m @ 3.79g/t Au from 111m and 4m @ 6.90g/t Au from 46m.

At the Observation deposit, hole 260BRC003 returned 1m @ 10.64g/t Au on the western side of the mineralisation envelope.

Torque renamed its flagship package from the Paris Gold Project to the Ritz Gold Project, with Ritz encompassing a current MRE of 351,000 ounces @ 3.1g/t Au across three deposits.

The company says heritage surveys are underway, with drilling along the Maynard’s Corridor set to begin this quarter.

Torque Metals is a gold explorer focused on its South Kalgoorlie Gold Camp in WA.
