Torque Metals (ASX:TOR) has reported new ‘high-grade’ gold intercepts outside existing mineral resource estimates (MRE) at its Paris Gold Project in Western Australia.
The company intersected 2.7m @ 5.2 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 201.2m at the Observation deposit, including 0.4m at 29.97g/t Au.
The intercept is the deepest recorded at Observation to date and sits approximately 60m down-dip from the current MRE boundary.
At the HHH deposit, drilling returned 1m @ 20.9g/t gold from 253.13m, including 0.6m @ 33.76g/t Au. The intercept extends known mineralisation down-plunge beyond current MRE boundaries.
Managing Director Craig Jones says the new intercepts represent a ‘strong start’ to the next phase of resource growth.
“The first extensional diamond holes at both Observation and HHH intersecting significant mineralisation outside their current mineral resource boundaries,” Jones adds.
A down-hole electromagnetic (DHEM) survey conducted at HHH identified a new conductor plate below the recent ‘high-grade’ intercept, providing a follow-up drill target.
The company reports greater than 90% historic correlation between DHEM conductor plates and gold mineralisation across the broader project.
At the Paris deposit, recent drilling targeting a potential third lode structure returned 1.3m @ 6.94g/t gold in a hanging-wall shear.
Observation currently hosts 25,000 ounces at 2.8g/t Au, while HHH contains 73,000 ounces at 2g/t Au. The broader Paris Gold Project holds a combined resource of 351,000 ounces at 3.1g/t Au across three deposits.
Jones says the new intercept at Observation appears to be a new sub-vertical lode offset from the existing model, demonstrating geological similarities to the Paris lodes.
Another diamond hole is currently in progress, targeting the area below the new intercept.
Torque Metals plans to continue extensional and growth drilling across both deposits, with systematic drilling designed to expand current MREs.
