Rokeby Resources (ASX:RKB) is planning to conduct a phase two drilling program at the Hurricane Project in northern Queensland, after returning ‘high-grade’ gold and antimony.
Step-out drilling will also be conducted to test the mapped quartz-vein, mapping and rock chip sampling, alongside geological modelling and interpretation.
The maiden reverse circulation drill program, comprising 25 holes for 1,538m of drilling, targeted quartz-vein stockworks, returning over a 5km strike, and gold-antimony lode systems.
Drilling also targeted the Bouncer, Tornado, Holmes, Hurricane, and Cyclone prospects, returning intersections including 6m @ 2.71 grams per tonne gold from 10m including 4m @ 3.68g/t gold from 11m and 3m @ 0.57% antimony from 14m.
Another intersection from the Tornado target includes 4m @ 3.1 g/t gold from 23m including 1m @ 5.5g/t gold from 23m and 1m @ 4.14g/t gold from 26m.
Rokeby says the program confirmed continuity with a strike extending more than 160m at Bouncer South, as well as Tornado and Hurricane showing extensions down dip.
CEO Trevor Benson says the program validates the prospectivity of Hurricane by demonstrating surface anomalies and continuity along strike and down dip.
“The fact that we intersected gold mineralisation in 18 of 25 holes drilled across multiple prospects and confirmed shallow high-grade gold beneath outcrops with multiple intercepts grading above 3g/t gold, gives us enormous confidence in staging the next phase two drilling campaign,” Benson says.
Rokeby Resources is a mineral explorer focused on the discovery of gold and antimony across its Australia-wide portfolio.
