Ragnar Metals (ASX:RAG) says results from its maiden drilling program at the Harnäs Gold Project in Sweden support the interpretation of at least five ‘higher-grade’ gold shoots, providing targets for deeper follow-up drilling.
The company completed 14 diamond holes for 1,359m between April and May, testing extensions to known mineralisation and the system’s down-dip and down-plunge continuity.
Hole RAG06 returned the program’s standout intersection of 13.5m @ 1.6 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 46.5m, including 4.5m @ 3.7g/t Au and 1m @ 13.6g/t Au.
Ragnar interprets the result as part of a southwest-plunging mineralised shoot beneath shallower historical drilling. A nearby historical hole returned 30m @ 1g/t Au, which the company says may represent a separate branch or parallel component of the shoot.
On the eastern margin of the historical open pit, RAG09 intersected 12m @ 1.1g/t Au from 18m, including 1m @ 5.7g/t Au. The hole sits below surface channel results of 3m @ 3.3g/t Au, including 2m @ 4.6g/t Au.
Broad mineralisation was also returned in RAG04, including 36m @ 0.54g/t Au from 59m, while RAG05 intersected 24.6m @ 0.6g/t Au from 65.8m.
Non-Executive Chairman Steve Formica says the shallow program has provided several targets for further testing.
“The results, including grades of up to 13.6g/t gold, support our interpretation that Harnäs hosts multiple higher-grade gold shoots that remain open at depth and down plunge,” Formica says.
Ragnar says it is planning and permitting a 3D downhole induced polarisation survey with GeoVista. The survey will target sulphide-bearing and silicified zones around existing drill holes before the next drilling phase.
Ragnar holds Harnäs under an option agreement with Harnäs GoldMine AB. The project’s two exploration licences cover about 1,094 hectares and include the Silvergruvan prospect, where previous rock-chip sampling returned up to 18.9g/t Au and 17.7g/t silver.
