Mining.com.au is rolling out its Pit to Pitch Spotlight Series on Friday 16 August at 10am AEST with the inaugural event hosted in a custom-designed virtual space in Gather, created in partnership with Space Makers.
Space Makers has worked with major organisations such as NASA, Red Bull, and Samsung to create life-like, highly interactive and user-friendly virtual spaces.
The new Pit to Pitch Spotlight Series aims to bridge the divide between North America and Australia by connecting participants with North America-focused mining CEOs.
Founder and Managing Director of Mining.com.au, Christopher Norris, says by hearing directly from C-level executives about their company’s progress, strategies, and challenges, participants will gain invaluable insights beyond what’s available in public reports or press releases.
“We are continually innovating and exploring new avenues to connect with our audience. Pit to Pitch offers a dynamic virtual platform where companies can present their projects in an engaging and interactive manner,” Norris says.
Unlike traditional webinars or conferences where interaction is often limited, participants in this series have the exclusive opportunity to engage directly with industry leaders. This level of access ensures attendees can ask questions, share insights, and build meaningful connections with execs, fostering a deeper understanding of the mining landscape.
Mining.com.au Executive Producer Shae Russell will host the event, while Mining.com.au Head of Data Dan Petrie is also presenting.
Company presenters include Scandium Canada (TSX-V:SCD) CEO Guy Bourassa; Power Nickel (TSX-V:PNPN) CEO Terry Lynch; ABx (ASX:ABX) CEO Dr Mark Cooksey; Iltani (ASX:ILT) Managing Director Donald Garner; Alma Metals (ASX:ALM) MD Frazer Tabeart; Black Canyon (ASX:BCA) MD Brendan Cummins; Toubani Resources (ASX:TRE) CEO Phil Russo; Viking Mines (ASX:VKA) MD Julian Woodcock; Tempest Minerals (ASX:TEM) MD Don Smith; and Great Boulder (ASX:GBR) MD Andrew Paterson.

Virtual game changer
Cummins says he will cover how Black Canyon has discovered and grown its manganese mineral resource base from zero to over 300Mt in just two years, with control over the largest contained Mn deposits in WA.
“We have demonstrated positive economics with completion of Scoping Level Studies to produce strong cashflows over a potential 16-year mine life with an NPV8 of $340 million and IRR of 70%,” he tells this news service.
“The company is confident it can produce a 32% Mn product using dense media separation, but we are completing further testwork to try and deliver a higher grade concentrate to market.”
The MD will also touch on Black Canyon’s tight capital structure and that RC drilling will commence shortly to follow up high-grade mineralisation at Wandanya.
Great Boulder Resources is a small, advanced exploration company with a hard-earned reputation for technical excellence that has translated into discoveries. The company’s flagship project is Side Well, located adjacent to the historic Meekatharra gold field in Western Australia about 800km north of Perth, where exploration since late 2020 has established a resource of 668,000oz of gold averaging 2.8g/t.
During his presentation Paterson says he will talk about the Side Well project, “focusing on the current resources, the pipeline of new prospects, value catalysts in the second half of this year, and why Great Boulder is confident it can easily achieve a million-ounce resource in 2025”.
Toubani’s Russo says as an explorer and developer focused on advancing Africa’s next gold development project with its oxide-dominant Kobada Gold Project in southern Mali, hell outline progress on the updated DFS which is fast approaching and set to deliver a step change in project profile for the company.
This is being “amplified by the ongoing corporate interest in West Africa with Perseus making another strategic acquisition – highlighting the rarity of advanced assets such as Toubani’s Kobada Gold Project”, Russo adds.
