Nordic Resources (ASX:NNL) has extended its resource inventory of the Kiimala Trend to 147,000 ounces gold equivalent, which hosts eight drilled and four un-drilled prospects along a 15km discontinuous trend.
Intersections returned include 122.4m @ 1.52 grams per tonne gold and 0.12% copper from 57.2m and 79.8m @ 1.85g/t gold and 0.18% copper from 172.8m.
Metallurgical testing across 142 samples in 2007 by Belvedere determined the possibility of up to 85% of estimated gold content to consist of cyanide-leachable gold.
Nordic, which has a market capitalisation $14.45 million, now has an inventory of 23.2 million tonnes @ 1.09g/t gold equivalent for 814,800 ounces gold equivalent across measured, indicated, and inferred categories for both the Kiimala and Kopsa projects, extending its total resource inventory to 961,800 ounces @ 1.11g/t gold equivalent.
Just 40km from the Kopsa Project, the company plans to drill at the Angesneva prospect as it remains open at depth with prospective parallel structures, as well as the adjacent Vesipera prospect in aims for making its resource estimate JORC-compliant.
The Hirsikangas Gold Project is still under review, with results to be announced once made available.
Executive Director Robert Wrixon says the Kiimala Trend’s updated resource inventory, along with its proximity to Kopsa, adds “significant” value to the regional development options currently under consideration.
As reported by Mining.com.au, the company will acquire 100% interest in the 27km2 land package, along with the Kopsa and Hirsikangas project in the acquisition of Northgold’s (STO:NG) two subsidiaries, Fennia Gold Oy (holder of the Kopsa project licences) and Lakeuden Malmi Oy (holder of the Kiimala Trend and Hirsikangas project licences).
Nordic Resources is an exploration company focusing on the development of its gold, copper, and nickel deposits spanning Finland.
