Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) is on course to deliver a resource estimate for the Orient West deposit in July 2025, after completing an infill drilling program within the Herberton Project in Queensland.
Managing Director Donald Garner says as the drillholes have delivered more “excellent” results the independent mining consultant has now started modelling to estimate the initial JORC resource.
At Orient West, drilling was completed as part of the larger resource infill program targeting the deposit area where there are multiple intersecting “higher grade” vein systems with associated low-grade stockwork mineralisation.
Iltani, which has a market capitalisation of $15.16 million, says the results demonstrate dip and strike continuity of the “higher grade” mineralisation for the immediate areas tested.
The company notes the results also indicate strong potential for the development of an open pittable resource based on the numerous broad, moderate-grade mineralised trends enveloping the “high-grade” mineralisation.
Some of the latest results include 7m @ 176 grams per tonne silver-equivalent (AgEq) from 145m, including 1m @ 945.4g/t AgEq from 151m; 1m @ 792.1g/t AgEq from 76m; and 1m @ 727.2g/t AgEq from 50m.
Meanwhile, drilling has also been completed at Orient East, with assays pending for drillholes ORR090 to ORR095. Orient East’s resource estimate is expected to be delivered in September 2025.
Garner notes the company has received the final versatile time-domain electromagnetic survey data, as reported, and Mitre Geophysics has begun modelling the data.
“We plan to start drilling geophysical targets at Orient once initial target modelling has been delivered, targeting additional tonnes and grade by testing the high-priority anomalies,” he says.
The company aims to begin drilling again towards the end of the month.
The Orient Project lies within the Herberton Project which covers 340km2 in the Herberton Mineral Field.
The Herberton Mineral Field is a highly prospective terrain with a long history of mining.
In Herberton, tin deposits were discovered in 1880 and over 2,400 old mines and prospects are known in the Herberton-Mt Garnet region. The majority of mines have been worked for tin, but also tungsten, copper and silver-lead-zinc plus bismuth, antimony, molybdenum and gold.
Iltani Resources will be attending the Noosa Mining Investor Conference, held between 23-25 July, at the Peppers Noosa Resort.
