Boss Energy (ASX:BOE) has met its first-year production guidance of 850,000 pounds of triuranium octoxide at the Honeymoon Uranium Operation in South Australia.
During this quarter, 328,102 pounds of triuranium octoxide has been produced to date, representing an 11% increase from Q1 2025.
Boss Energy, which has a market capitalisation of $1.85 billion, says production will continue over the remainder of June but will be limited due to the company’s decision to conduct a short planned maintenance program and prepare for the ongoing ramp-up in FY2026.
Managing Director Duncan Craib says this is a major achievement and is a testament to the team’s talent and commitment.
“It also confirms that the changes we made to the processing circuit at Honeymoon, including the adoption of the ion exchange technology, have met or exceeded our expectations,” Craib says.
“We have done exactly what we said we would do. Not once since announcing the enhanced Feasibility Study in June 2021 have we revised Honeymoons’s cost or production guidance. And we have increased production in every successive quarter.”
The Honeymoon Project, located 80km northwest of Broken Hill in South Australia, hosts the historical Honeymoon Mine which was Australia’s second operating in-situ recovery uranium mine.
The mine began production in 2011 and was suspended in November 2013 in response to falling uranium prices, with the project subsequently acquired by Boss in 2015.
