Geopacific Resources (ASX:GPR) has returned grades of up to 76.3 grams per tonne gold (Au) from drilling across its Woodlark Gold Project in Papua New Guinea.
The results cover 29 reverse circulation and diamond holes targeting near-mine extensions, emerging exploration areas, and improved geological confidence for future mine planning. Drilling concluded in May, with assays now received for all completed holes.
At Busai Deeps, hole BSRD25008 intersected 1.4m @ 29.4g/t Au from 257m, including 0.4m @ 76.3g/t Au from 258m. Other results included 9m @ 1.79g/t Au from 227m and 8.8m @ 1.56g/t Au from 175.2m.
Little MacKenzie returned 2.3m @ 16.4g/t Au from 114.7m, including 0.4m @ 90.7g/t Au. Other intersections included 7.2m @ 3.3g/t Au from 97.8m and 3m @ 4.67g/t Au from 21m.
At Woodlark King NW, drilling intersected a broader interval of 36m @ 1.48g/t Au from 60m.
Wayai Creek returned 9m @ 4.2g/t Au from 141m and 11m @ 2.38g/t Au from 44m. The latter hole also intersected a separate 2m @ 13.4g/t Au interval from 59m.
Results from Great Northern included 2.7m @ 9.34g/t Au from 110m, including 0.7m @ 14.6g/t Au. Boscalo North returned 7m @ 2.48g/t Au from 21m and 3.7m @ 2.63g/t Au from 97.6m.
Reported intervals are downhole lengths, with true widths not stated.
Managing Director Hamish Bohannan says the results improve the company’s understanding of the mineralised systems across Woodlark.
“The latest results from drilling across Woodlark continue to strengthen our geological understanding of the project, reinforce the scale of the opportunity ahead of us and provide potential upside to the DFS [Definitive Feasibility Study],” Bohannan says.
“The program has delivered a series of high-grade gold intercepts across near-mine and regional target areas, supporting the potential for resource growth and improved confidence in future mine planning.”
Geopacific says the results could provide upside to the recently completed DFS, which forecasts annual production of more than 100,000 ounces of gold at all-in sustaining costs below $2,000 per ounce.
The company is integrating the assays with geological, geochemical, and structural datasets to refine its models and prioritise further exploration. Surface geochemical sampling is continuing across selected targets.
Woodlark hosts a mineral resource of 70.1 million tonnes (Mt) @ 0.88g/t Au for 1.98 million ounces (Moz). Its ore reserve contains 34.3Mt @ 1.09g/t Au for 1.2Moz across the Kulumadau, Busai, and Woodlark King deposits.
Geopacific Resources is a gold development company focused on advancing the wholly owned Woodlark Gold Project in Papua New Guinea.
