Geopacific fortifies Woodlark’s 2026 DFS

Geopacific Resources (ASX:GPR) is preparing to deliver a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) in Q1 2026 for the Woodlark Gold Project in Papua New Guinea.

Progress has been made on all major workstreams including mining, processing infrastructure, environmental, and geotechnical, with the majority of the technical components to be completed by the end of 2025.

The company says the DFS will integrate several ‘value-enhancing’ and de-risking opportunities, which are expected to deliver a ‘more robust’ project in the most efficient manner.

Geopacific, which has a market capitalisation of $99 million, expects the delivery of the DFS to generate strong interest from the funding community regarding the project.

A process is being undertaken to appoint a specialist debt advisory group to support the Woodlark Project development funding process.

This news comes in light of gold’s spot price being 115% higher than the financial assumptions used in a Scoping Study conducted in 2024. At the time of the study, gold prices were sitting at around $2,900 per ounce in comparison to more than $6,000 per ounce.

At the time of writing, gold’s price sat at $6,255.81 per ounce, as reported by the ABC Bullion.

The Woodlark Gold Project hosts a resource of 48.3 million tonnes @ 1.07 grams per tonne gold for 1.67 million ounces of gold.

Geopacific Resources is a gold-focused developer that aims to be a responsible gold miner.
