Future Metals (ASX:FME) has received firm commitments for a placement of around $3.6 million to advance its Panton PGM (platinum group metals) Project and continue work on a potential acquisition of the nearby Savannah plant in Western Australia.
The company will issue approximately 254.6 million new shares at $0.014 each to new and existing institutional and sophisticated investors.
The issue price represents a 17.6% discount to Future Metals’ closing price of $0.017 on 14 August 2026. It also marks discounts of 16.8% and 9.5% to the five-day and 15-day volume-weighted average prices, respectively.
Managing Director Keith Bowes says the funds will support an updated Scoping Study comparing two potential development pathways for the project.
“The funds raised provide Future Metals with the financial capacity to advance a number of important workstreams at Panton, most notably completion of the updated Scoping Study assessing both a greenfield development at Panton and the alternative development pathway utilising the Savannah processing infrastructure,” Bowes says.
Proceeds will also support environmental baseline studies, an independent expert report, post-Scoping Study improvement initiatives, and continued exploration across the Alice Downs Corridor.
Future Metals has allocated $750,000 to the updated study and another $750,000 to legal, corporate, tax, and technical work associated with negotiations to potentially acquire the Savannah plant from Zeta Resources.
These transaction-related costs exclude any consideration that may become payable for the acquisition itself.
The placement will be completed in two tranches. The first comprises approximately 214.3 million shares to raise $3 million under Future Metals’ existing placement capacity. Settlement is expected on 26 August, followed by allotment on 27 August.
The second tranche comprises approximately 40.4 million shares to raise $565,000. Zeta — Future Metals’ largest shareholder — has committed $500,000, while directors and employees have subscribed for a combined $65,000.
The second tranche requires shareholder approval at a general meeting expected in late September.
Blue Ocean Equities and CPS Capital acted as joint lead managers and joint bookrunners. The proposed issue document outlines management and selling fees of 3% each.
Future Metals also plans to issue the managers 25 million broker options, exercisable at $0.025 and expiring 24 months after issue, subject to shareholder approval.
The updated Scoping Study will be based on Panton’s reported July mineral resource estimate of 82.3 million tonnes (Mt) @ 1.6 grams per tonne platinum equivalent (PtEq) for 4.24 million ounces.
This comprises 40Mt of indicated resources for 2.06 million ounces (Moz) PtEq and 42.3Mt of inferred resources for 2.18Moz PtEq.
Future Metals owns 100% of Panton, which lies 60km north of Halls Creek in the Kimberley, and comprises three granted mining licences. The WA-focused minerals exploration and development company is evaluating standalone development and an alternative pathway using existing Savannah processing infrastructure.
