Corazon Mining (ASX:CZN) has expanded the footprint of its MacBride Base and Precious Metals Project in Manitoba, Canada, and is now working to identify priority targets for a 2025 drilling program.
The new mining claims, which total 30km2 and are pending approval by the Manitoba Provincial Government, cover a contiguous 14km strike length of the prospective MacBride/Wellmet trend.
The newly acquired ground hosts several prospects, known as SG-86-1, Areas B, C, D, and E, uncovered by earlier exploration efforts, with results showing up to 25.9 grams per tonne gold via grab sampling.
Corazon says the project expansion further enhances its position as a landholder and active explorer and developer in the Lynn Lake district, which also hosts the company’s Lynn Lake Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Sulphide Project.
An aerial versatile time-domain electromagnetic (VTEM) geophysical survey is currently underway at MacBride, after a previously conducted VTEM survey defined a conductor coincident with the deposit, as well as multiple untested, high-priority conductors uncovered on trend.
The latest survey aims to provide greater coverage of the project area, including for the first time on the Wellmet copper-gold and zinc-copper-gold trends.
Corazon expects the results to be available in the coming weeks, which will be used for drill targeting early next year.
Following this announcement, Corazon’s share price had increased 25% to $0.002 as of 3:30pm AEDT yesterday.
The MacBride Project’s region, Lynn Lake, has a history of mining and exploration for magmatic nickel sulphide, volcanogenic zinc-copper-gold massive sulphides and orogenic gold dating back to the late 1940s.
Corazon Mining is a nickel-focused explorer and developer focused on its projects in Australia and Canada.
