Auravelle Metals (ASX:AUV) has commenced a 3,500m aircore drilling program at the Nuckulla Hill Gold Project in South Australia.
The discovery-focused program will test five targets along the Yarlbrinda Shear Zone, which hosts Barton Gold Holdings‘ (ASX:BGD) neighbouring 1.6-million-ounce Tunkillia Gold Project. The targets include Sheoak North, Myall, Sauna, Bimba West, and Bimba North.
All five prospects feature coincident gold and silver geochemical anomalies. Sheoak North and Myall sit along strike of Sheoak within a 3.5km long zone of gold anomalies.
The program is expected to take seven to 10 days, with assays expected in mid to late October.
Managing Director Andrew Muir notes that large areas of Yarlbrinda remain untested or have had little to no follow-up drilling.
“This program will test some of those areas, which is an exciting opportunity given the prospectivity of the Yarlbrinda and its potential to host large gold deposits,” Muir says.
Auravelle expects additional newsflow from its exploration activities, with results from soil sampling at Crown expected in coming weeks and first-pass soil sampling results at Skye due in late September.
Meanwhile, reverse circulation drilling is scheduled to commence in early October to conduct infill and extensional work at Sheoak, Sheoak East, and Bimba.
Auravelle Metals is an explorer focused on its gold discoveries in South and Western Australia.
