Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) has confirmed mineralisation extends 2,500m along strike between two historical uranium mines at its Yellow Cat Uranium Vanadium Project in Utah, US.
The company’s 23‑hole aircore drilling program returned assay values up to 0.3m @ 774 parts per million (ppm) uranium, which the US Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) and United States Geological Survey (USGS) consider to signify “extreme proximity” to a mineralised zone.
The drilling proved the paleochannel extension between the McCoy Group and Cactus Rat mines, providing new confined drilling targets for future exploration.
The highest intercept was 0.3m @ 774ppm uranium, including 0.9m @ 533ppm, at surface in hole YAC14. This intercept sits atop a 14‑foot stope of a previously mined area.
According to AEC and USGS thresholds, grades of 150–500ppm signify extreme proximity to mineralised traps.
The 508m drilling program targeted the area between the historical McCoy and Cactus Rat uranium mines, which previously hosted economic uranium and vanadium mineralisation.
Anson says uranium in paleochannels typically travels via oxygenated groundwater and precipitates when it hits a chemical boundary. The 100ppm uranium hits indicate the company is tracking the hydrogeochemical pathway.
The highest vanadium intercept was 5.5m @ 526ppm vanadium in hole YAC15.
The company has commenced environmental and cultural surveys for phase two resource re‑definition drilling to convert a historical resource into a JORC 2012 compliant resource.
Anson Resources holds 151 unpatented federal lode mining claims at Yellow Cat, all in good standing.
