Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) has received a US$212 million ($296.06 million) post-performance tax credit from Utah’s Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) board for its Green River Lithium Project in Utah, US.
The credit, awarded under the Rural Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (REDTIF) program, represents 50% of projected Utah state tax revenue over 20 years of operation, estimated at approximately US$425 million.
This approval brings total project tax rebates to US$406.5 million, following a previous rebate from the Utah Inland Port Authority.
Executive Chairman and CEO Bruce Richardson says the tax credit represents the ‘strong’ support Anson has received from the Government of Utah, “a relationship that the company has been developing over several years”.
“The company appreciates this support and is continuing to work with both the state and federal government representatives on other grants and incentive programs that do not dilute the company’s shareholders while adding value to the project,” Richardson says.
Anson says talks with GOED are ongoing regarding additional incentive programs.
The company also notes that the financial implications of the tax reduction will be incorporated into the upcoming Green River Definitive Feasibility Study.
The Green River Project holds total resources of 773,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent, comprising 183,000 tonnes in the indicated category and 590,000 tonnes in the inferred category.
Last month (August 2026), Anson announced it had obtained formal support from Utah authorities for the project, with proposed incentives worth US$357.7 million.
The package includes US$127.75 million of post-performance state tax reimbursements over 20 years from GOED.
Anson Resources is a mineral resources company focused on developing its portfolio of lithium projects in Utah.
