Aguia Resources (ASX:AGR) reports record gold production of 942 grams at an average grade of more than 10 grams per tonne from its Santa Barbara Gold Project in Colombia.
The August result is the ‘highest production and grade’ in the project’s history, more than doubling the previous best of 468g at about 5g/t in February 2026. Output was drawn from just 100 tonnes of mined material.
A 50-tonne third-party processing trial returned 637.37g of payable gold, valued at about $123,200, plus 1,226.8g of payable silver. Including revenue from locally produced material, total August revenue was about $171,000.
Plant feed grades reached 20.4g/t in June, following a March recovery result of 89.6% from 3.06g/t feed. Completion of new shaft development in August contributed to an average plant head grade of 15g/t, with 50% of ore sent to a third-party plant.
Managing Director and CEO Tim Hosking says the third-party processing trial with the Colombian Mint provides a potential pathway to near-term cash flow. Meanwhile, the team continues to focus on underground development and dilution control.
“We are encouraged that the month’s performance better reflects the quality and potential of the project. Our immediate priority is to build production in a disciplined manner toward approximately 200 tonnes per month, while maintaining grade,” Hosking adds.
The trial parcel was delivered in the first week of September to the Quintana Processing Plant in Remedios, Antioquia, operated by the Colombian Mint. Aguia receives 90% of recovered gold after processing charges of US$65 ($91) per tonne.
The company plans to increase monthly production to about 200 tonnes over the next 90 days while mining selectively.
Aguia Resources is an Australian multi-commodity company with phosphate projects in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and gold projects in Bolívar, Colombia, supported by in-country teams based in Porto Alegre and Medellín.
