Aguia Resources (ASX:AGR) has improved its gold recoveries to more than 85% in January 2026 at the Santa Barbara Gold Project in Colombia, up from 70% in December.
Managing Director Timothy Hosking says the team at Santa Barbara has been primarily using low to medium grade existing stockpiles, delivering improved recoveries and increased gold production.
“Small-scale mining activities resumed late in January, creating high expectations for further improvements in recovery rate, high grades and production volumes over the coming months,” Hosking says.
“Whilst revenue is still relatively modest, it continues to improve under a smaller, focused team, and our objective is to continue on this trajectory.

“As well, we have continued to focus on exploration activities to identify new areas of interest. An extensive sampling interpretation program has been completed with more assays results.
“Proving up a broader mineralised system at Santa Barbara is a key focus for the team in Colombia and we anticipate reporting this shortly.”
Aguia says trial mining processing with less tonnes and lower head grades has returned higher grade recoveries and increased gold production.
The company will be more selective in mining and limit the dilution of higher grade ore in February rather than addressing the remaining stockpile that was deemed lower grade and diluted by the previous team.
Meanwhile over in Brazil, Aguia is focused on becoming one of the more pragmatic phosphate stories in global mining, with a strategy centred on low-cost production, market positioning, and a fast-tracked development path for production in early 2026, as reported.
Aguia Resources is progressing gold, silver, and gold-copper projects in Colombia and Brazil.
