Vancouver, Canada-based Aftermath Silver (TSX-V:AAG) has intersected up to 447 grams per tonne silver and 1.85% copper from surface during drilling at its Berenguela Project in Peru.
President Ralph Rushton says the phase-two program had several objectives including increasing the confidence of the inferred resources by converting them to measured and indicated, testing key geological structures and also stepping out from historic high-grade intercepts.
“The current results have enabled us to extend mineralisation westward and southward and should add new resources in previously undrilled areas,” he says.
“The high copper grades that accompany silver in the latest western drilling further confirm Berenguela’s polymetallic nature.”
Top hits include 9.1m @ 447g/t silver, 1.85% copper and 17.96% manganese from surface; and 15.3m @ 439g/t silver, 1.81% copper and 4.2% manganese from within a broader intercept of 30m @ 269g/t silver, 1.81% copper and 5.85% manganese from 12.8m.
Historical mapping and resource modelling shows the mineralisation extends for about 1.3km along strike, including a 100m gap or discontinuity which was drill tested in the current program, with a width of 200 to 400m.
Aftermath says the western edge of the mineralisation has shown to be a complex area with folded and faulted contacts that juxtapose high-grade mineralisation against barren limestone and footwall units.
Copper mineralisation in the western edge, where encountered, is relatively high-grade, according to the company.
Aftermath, which has a market capitalisation of C$152.6 million ($169.3 million), has an option with SSR Mining (ASX:SSR) to acquire a 100% interest in the Berenguela project.
The project hosts a potentially open-pittable silver-copper-manganese resource close to Santa Lucia in Puno province, southern Peru.
Berenguela hosts measured and indicated resources totalling 40.2 million tonnes @ 78g/t silver, 6.1% manganese and 0.67% copper for 101.2 million ounces of silver, 2.5 million tonnes of manganese and 589 million pounds of copper.
It also hosts an inferred resource of 22.3 million tonnes @ 54g/t silver, 3.57% manganese and 0.42% copper for 38.8 million ounces of silver, 800,000 tonnes of manganese and 204.3 million pounds of copper.
Aftermath was recently named as one of the 50 best performing companies on New York’s OTCQX in 2024.
The 2025 OTCQX Best 50 companies traded a total US$5.85 billion ($9.4 billion) in volume and delivered a median total return of 74% last year to investors.
