ACG Metals (LSE:ACG) has achieved first production of copper concentrate from its Gediktepe operation in Türkiye, with commissioning progressing as planned.
Gediktepe is a copper, zinc, gold, and silver mine with an initial 11-year mine life. Over the life of mine, the operation is forecast to produce 20,000–25,000 tonnes copper equivalent per year.
ACG Metals’ focus is now on increasing throughput, optimising plant performance and progressing towards full production by the end of 2026.
CEO Artem Volynets says this marks the company’s transition into a copper producer and represents a defining milestone.
“Achieving this safely and within budget reflects the dedication and execution capability of our employees, contractors, and partners,” Volynets says.
“Our priority is now a disciplined ramp-up, progressively increasing throughput and recoveries, delivering consistent concentrate quality and advancing towards steady-state production.”
ACG Metals aims to consolidate the copper industry through a series of roll-up acquisitions targeting copper producers with best-in-class environmental, social, and governance (ESG) characteristics.
