Voltaic Strategic secures key gold tenement at Meekatharra

Voltaic Strategic Resources (ASX:VSR) has been granted an exploration licence (E51/2022), named Bluebird South, which expands its Meekatharra Gold Project’s footprint to 267km2.

The new tenement lies in close proximity to Westgold Resources (ASX:WGX) Bluebird 1.8 million tonne per year mill and just 5km south of the operating Bluebird UG Mine.

The company plans to conduct systematic reconnaissance aircore drilling, targeting the northern and western margins of the intrusion and the underexplored areas north of it.

Voltaic aims to systematically test prospective zones, building on the insights gained from regional magnetics and historical shallow drilling.

During Q2 and Q3 2024, Voltaic will undertake extended regional geochemical surveys and detailed mapping across tenure targeting interpreted structures amongst mafic / dolerite and felsic contacts, alongside a detailed high-resolution gravity survey in delineated prospective structure corridors.

Once completed, the company will launch a maiden drilling program to test priority targets derived from geochemical and mapping work.

Meekatharra Gold now comprises seven granted exploration licences within a prolific gold precinct in Western Australia.

CEO Michael Walshe says the company will be exploring an array of gold prospects, all located within trucking distance of several operational mills.

“Our immediate priority is to uncover gold deposits in the northern extension of the Burnakura shear zone and the newly identified ‘Midas’ intrusion-related gold target at the contacts of the Norie Pluton and Racecourse Tonalite,” he says.

The Meekatharra project is largely underexplored, despite its proximity to several historic and active open pits and underground mines.
