Voltaic Strategic Resources (ASX:VSR) is looking to undertake systematic geological mapping and surface sampling at its El Dinero prospect within the Meekatharra Project in Western Australia.
This plan follows recent field work that identified malachite-rich copper mineralisation across multiple locations over approximately 100m.
Portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) screening of four selected copper-mineralised rock samples returned average indicative readings ranging from 1.88% to 8.31% copper (Cu).
The other three indicative copper readings are 5.30% Cu, 4.91% Cu, and 1.88% Cu.
Voltaic notes that the pXRF readings are preliminary and non-representative of the broader mineralised zone.
Nonetheless, Chairman Daniel Raihani says these are “encouraging early observations”.
“El Dinero is not a new copper occurrence, with previous laboratory rock-chip assays having confirmed copper-gold mineralisation at the prospect, including up to 2.57% copper and 2.25 grams per tonne gold,” Raihani says.
“The identification of further malachite-rich material across multiple locations provides a clear basis for systematic follow-up work.
“Our immediate priority is to complete laboratory analysis of the samples collected and return to the field to better define the extent of the mineralised system and develop targets for potential drilling.”
Voltaic collected 40 rock samples during the field program, submitting four copper-mineralised samples for laboratory testing while 36 targeted gold.
The company intends to progress heritage, access, and permitting requirements to facilitate potential maiden drilling.
Voltaic Strategic Resources holds a gold and critical minerals portfolio in WA.
