Volt Resources (ASX:VRC) has relocated its head office from New Jersey to The EDGE at the University of Alabama’s ‘Alabama Entrepreneurship Institute’ – an innovation hub for startups and job creation.
This move is part of the company’s strategy towards advancing its patent-pending technology Low-Cost HF Free Purification to Produce Battery Grade Graphite.
By bringing the office closer to its planned industrial site, Volt aims to facilitate effective collaboration and technology transfer with partners such as the University of Alabama and local economic development authorities.
Volt is working to strengthen its role in North America’s battery supply chain by completing the current graphite purification bench-scale testwork program, as well as by conducting pilot plant trials in Alabama.
The company is also pursuing government facilitation and grant discussions and is leveraging collaboration with the government, academia, and industry.
The move to Alabama’ comes a week after the graphite producer and advanced materials developer has drawn $500,000 from the available $1 million from the RiverFort Global Opportunities funding agreement.
The funds will be used to execute strategic initiatives for the production of high purity graphite products, advancing the development of the Bunyu graphite project in Tanzania.
Funds will be deployed to accelerate the development of high purity graphite products and pilot plant trials for the Alabama Graphite Refinery.
The company recently announced the results of a Scoping Study for the planned refinery, which reinforces that Volt’s graphite purification process delivers strong project economics.
Volt is currently in the testwork phase and proceeding with plans for pilot plant trials, engaging with potential offtake partners, exploring government facilitation, and considering funding options as it moves forward with project development.
Completion of the current strategic partner negotiations for the advancement of the stage one Bunyu Graphite Project to the development phase.
These discussions are focused on the reduction of capital and operating costs such that the Bunyu project can be funded and economically developed in the current low graphite price environment.
