Unity Metals (ASX:UM1) has reported new gold intersections at its Rohav Mountain Prospect in Cambodia, with the company saying mineralisation appears to be strengthening as it extends northeast under basalt cover.
The company intersected 5m @ 1.80 grams per tonne gold from 196m in hole 26DDRM012, located 150m southwest from a previous intersection of 23m @ 0.90g/t gold from 120m, including 6m @ 1.90g/t gold.
Unity has completed its maiden diamond drilling program at the Ngot Gold Project, totalling 8,238m across 50 holes.
“We now believe the gold mineralisation at Rohav Mountain may be strengthening to the northeast where it then extends under basalt cover. We also believe the diorite intrusion is thickening where it extends under the basalt,” Managing Director Craig Mackay.
Gold mineralisation at Rohav Mountain is associated with sheeted and stockwork quartz-pyrite-arsenopyrite veins hosted within or adjacent to a highly altered diorite intrusion.
The intrusion is more than 150m wide, vertically dipping, and surrounded by hornfelsed sediments.
Unity Metals has drilled 13 diamond holes for 2,713.9m at Rohav Mountain to date. The best gold intersections lie along the contacts of the diorite intrusion and surrounding hornfels.
Geological mapping has uncovered additional areas hosting stockwork veins in diorite, and rock chip sampling of these veins is underway.
The company has completed geophysical surveys, including UAV magnetics and dipole-dipole array induced polarisation to identify new drilling targets under basalt cover. Assays remain outstanding for three holes across the project.
Unity’s Ngot Gold Project is located in Cambodia near the Okvau Mine of Emerald Resources (ASX:EMR), a 1.3-million-ounce deposit that shares a licence boundary with the former’s project.
